The largest nuclear disaster ever

The Chernobyl Incident, the most serious nuclear accident which ever occurred took place on April 26, 1986 in the nuclear thermal power station located 110 km from Kiev. The radioactive cloud swept over all Europe and contaminated more than 600.000 people. The final count was 35.000 dead and more than 95.000 handicapped due to radioactive poisoning in the area of Kiev.
