The European Summit is going to be difficult.
The safeguard of the European treaty is at the center of the Council European June 21-22, 2007. The German presidency of the EU submitted a new proposal. Nicolas Sarkozy, who defends a simplified treaty, expects a difficult ending. On his side, Luxembourg Prime Minister Jean-Claude Juncker declared that there would be no further EU expansion without a new treaty, thus putting pressure on Great Britain and Poland.
